IQ-LAB +
Lab for Community of Inquiry in a Global Citizenship

Vision & Goals of IQ-Lab+
Advancing AI-supported teacher professionalization
Following the promising results of IQ-Lab, IQ-Lab+ continues this process of AI-supported teacher professionalization. The new teaching research project will remain focused on transcultural interactive learning and global education, but will increasingly focus on not only deepening the skills acquired, but also integrating them into the teaching programs in a targeted, connectable, and research-generating way.
Innovative Learning Labs and AI in educational research
The previous Learning Labs have proven themselves as dynamic spaces in which experimental research, factor control, and measurement come together in an innovative framework. IQ-Lab+ continues this organizational form in order to collect data, develop and validate tools, and at the same time distribute them further for teaching and intercollegial exchange.
The aim of the project is not only to use virtual reality applications for case work in parental work settings (as in IQ-Lab), but also to realize further learning situations in a controlled environment that open up subject-, field-, and person-related educational processes.

Expanding Learning Opportunities
Training is planned for learning status, crisis, and general counseling sessions.
IQ-Lab+ will actively integrate previous experiences into further teaching practice, expanding its scope to include Bachelor’s and Master’s seminars.
The project enables both conceptual and practical learning, focusing on cultural, aesthetic learning, global education, and the inclusion of migrants.
Research Question & Future Impact
Exploring the impact of AI on teacher education
The experiences gained with these heterogeneous groups will be evaluated with regard to the guiding research question: How can practical learning occasions of students of different professionalization levels (Bachelor, Master) be simulated with the help of the use of GenAI in such a way that the learners perceive an increase in competence, and how can this increase in competence be measured?
